Tailormade Experience

Yamagata is an undiscovered diamond stone, yet it is only 150 minutes away from Tokyo.  More than 30 destinations within Yamagata Prefecture are listed in Michelin Green Guide.  It has well-preserved local culture, fantastic food, and, needless to say, sake. We would be very happy to build your experience as you like, which may include:

  • visiting a prominent brewery that is usually closed to public, check out where sake is brewed, and taste the brewery’s most premium sake

  • educational sake tasting session run by sake shop owner;

  • sake and its source water tasting at riverhead;

  • sake glass making; and

  • sake pairing dinner.

Sake is truly inevitable, but you can also do something like:

  • visiting local onsen where you find no tourists;

  • trail running, nature walk, local city running;

  • getting on very local trains; and

  • visiting local shrines and temples.

Sample itinerary and price can be found here, but you can go for a premium one, which allows you to stay at one of the best onsen ryokans in Japan, and enjoy Yamagata sake paired with Japanese cuisine made from local ingredients.

Please let us know what you would like to do in Yamagata using the form below.  Adding your budget would help us in making proposals.  The minimum all-inclusive price is JPY 130,000 p.p. (plus tax) for a group of two or more, and JPY 150,000 for a group of one person.
